Aging in Place (Frailty), Care for people living with HIV and/or chronic diseases

Prof. Gwang Suk Kim is performing education and research in the field of community health nursing, based on her practical experience as an occupational health nurse and her dissertation research. For more than ten years, she has conducted study on the care continuum of people living with HIV (PLWH). Her research team developed a nurse-led mobile app called "ESSC" (Excellent Self-Supervised HIV Care) to support PLWH in self-management and is analyzing its effectiveness through various advanced methods. Currently, she is studying the multifaced characteristics and related factors of frailty in community-dwelling older adults, as well as developing and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing intervention programs to prevent falls. Professor Kim is teaching students in charge of subjects such as community health nursing, health promotion and nursing education, population health management, research methodology, and dissertation seminars.
