Welcome to Yonsei University College of Nursing (YUCON)! 

YUCON was founded in 1906 by Esther Shields, an American nursing missionary. It started Korea`s first bachelor`s degree in Nursing 1910, opened a master's degree in Nursing in 1963, doctoral degree in 1978 and was promoted as Korea`s first College of Nursing in 1968, boasting a long history and tradition as the leading Nursing education institution. Home to more than 5100 undergraduate, 1850 RN-BSN, and 1050 graduate students, we have practiced the mission of nursing to make a healthy society for the past 114 years and our alumni are contributing to the development of a global healthcare not only in Korea but also in various field around the world by demonstrating the value of Yonsei spirit.

Practicing Christian love and serving, respecting humans as holistic beings, and pursuing a state of well-being by restoring, maintaining, and promoting health are the goal of our school. We strive to play a pivotal role for the worldwide development of Nursing and healthcare. To achieve this goal, we have secured a world-class faculty team, innovative education curriculum, creative research capacity, and active cooperation with leading global institutions. 

This year, our graduate program has been designated as Brain Korea 21 (BK21) - a government project to strengthen the educational and research capabilities of graduate schools and foster the generation of Nursing leaders. In addition, Mo-Im Kim Nursing Research Institute has been recognized as a Research for Excellency in Aging science. We have also achieved the top ranking in Korea in the Web of Science.

We will keep transforming ourselves to be of greater college to the rapidly changing world and of enhanced value to Nursing. I cordially would like you to keep interest in our school! Thank you.
